It is going to cost about $1000 more to stay at Hard Rock, but we have a 2 yo, a 5 yo,and twin 9 yr olds, so the express pass that comes with your package when you stay on the grounds is sounding really good. It also sounds really nice and like a lot of fun, but we could save a lot of money by staying a mile down the road? Is it worth the cost??? Thanks!!

It's DEFINITELY worth it. We always stay at the resort. You can stay at the Royal Pacific Resort. It's still a great resort and it is cheaper than the Hard Rock. You still get all the benefits. Try the rates on AAA.com. They usually will save you even more money.

It is so nice to roll out of bed, go outside to a beautiful setting, not have to get into your car, but rather a water taxi to take you to CityWalk. It's so relaxing and really cuts down on the stress of parking and dealing with traffic. You really feel like you are away from it all.

Depending on the time of year that you are going, the express pass will keep your sanity. You will experience so much more during your days there from being able to cut the lines.

Regardless, you will have a great time. Universal is great.

I debated this same thing but for Disney World. I wanted to have the full experience of staying on site and the ooh and aww factor.
With a lot of research and serious thought we decided to stay in a vacation home. It did save us loads of money but more importantly frustration. For us we can't stand being nickel and dimed to death at hotels. Just the convenience of snacks and making our own food when we felt like it was worth it. Our home also had a small splash pool for the kids and that in itself was well worth it. You just have to decide what your priorities are and go from there. The other thing I was worried about was the long lines and we went in June. I signed up for Tourguide Mikes advice and we never waited in line more than 10 minutes unless it was for a show. I am not sure if there is advice for Universal like that but that was worth the 20.00 i spent on that.
Most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!!

If you are going you spend all of your time at Universal it is definitely worth it. If not I would look around. With all of the kids Disney would be better. All lot of the hotels in Kississimee/St. Cloud and on I - Drive are horrible. Make sure research the hotel before you make your reservation. If it is cheap there is probably a reason.

I wouldn't think it would cost an additional $1,000, but I believe it would be worth it. Is the 1,000 above and beyond everything you would have paid for the other hotel, tickets and parking. Sounds excessive. Might want to check prices again.

hI! i actually take a trip to florida every year, especially to universal studios! i think that it would be best to have an express pass especially since you have young children that will be with you! no child wants to wait in long lines for rides, etc..and who knows when you will be returning??! so why not splurge alil' bit for the kids ya know? hope ive helped ya! have fun too!
