I've got a huge pigeon problem in my garden. What's the best way to get rid of them. My mate suggested feeding them bread with loads of bicarb rubbed in, but that sounds like it's gonna attract the masses. Help?

Why not put up a scarecrow? Or you can get a plastic owl from most hardware stores. Even a wind-catcher might work. Do you have a birdfeeder that is attracting them? I don't know of anything that would both scare away the pidgeons and allow other birds to eat there. Well, other than getting spill-proof feeders for tiny birds.
Or maybe you could play the sound of a dog barking? If you Google "repel pidgeon" you get a lot of sonic blasters and chemical repellants.

I heard a plastic garbage bag works magic. Shred some, not all, at one end and tie the other end to a pole with a strings, so it'll loosely move with the wind. Every time it'll hit by a blast of wind, they'll move and make noise that'll scare your pigeons away. Another trick is to have a video tape film stretch crisscrossing your garden. It'll work the same as the plastic bags.
If all fails, take them out with a sling shot or pellet gun and roast them. They taste good you know.

It worked for about 5 days but then they all did stuff too it, I would suggest putting ORANGE rope all above your back yard some how it works for the ducks and I'm sure it will work for pigeons and woodpeckers maybe even that squirrel or fill the fake owl with some sorta bomb that won't hurt them and with a button too press so it will explode when there near and that should scare them away for awhile.

Here, where I live, the City periodically poisons them. But if you do that you take the chance of accidentally poisoning pets in the area.

Get a plastic owl, they are very effective. You can get them at good hardware stores.
