Did you have any applications open at the time of the restore?
At any rate the restoration can be reversed via system restore.

I would reverse the changes and then try again...

ALL APPLICATIONS including virus checkers etc should be closed.

I had the same problem recently ( I lost about 25 gigs ) because I ran multiple SR in 1 day trying to get PC straightened out. Your SR can use up to 12 percent of HD for storing SR points wich can be alot depending on HD size . What I had to do was delete all but the most recent restore point once I got PC running correctly. To do this (IF U WANT TO) is go to Disk cleanup > more options > system restore section at bottom and click cleanup. It will ask u if u want to remove all but the most recent restore point click yes. Note: Make damn sure u have PC running the way u want it b4 doing because u will have to wait a couple days till ur pc creates more restore points .

Also u may consider doing a defrag after to tighten up disk. do it later tonight so as not to be messin with pc while defrag is running.
