Trust me.This will do nothing for your water. There is only one type of softener(the conventional one with salt) that will do anything to soften your water. The magnetic ones are pure scams. Hope this helps.

There is no way these work. The cause of hardness in water is the presence of ionic metal salts that form insoluble precipitates with fatty acid anions (soap scum) and also form insoluble minerals with dissolved carbonate from dissolved carbon dioxide. Magnetic devices do not address the removal of metal ions. They at best impart a magnetic field which may align the ions for a very short time (way under 1 second) after exiting the magnetic field. This allignment does nothing to remove the metal ions. The only practical method is via ion exchange resin which is recharged via saturated sodium chloride solution (common table salt). There are many reputable water softener companies that make products that perform.

Most water hardness is Calcium Carbonate. And why would a magnetic water softener work??? It doesn't!!!!!
