If you're coming from the west (US, Canada, etc):
You'll need a converter and adaptors for many things. Your laptop should be multi-voltage (check the power supply - if it says "AC100-240V... 56-60Hz" then you don't need a converter just an adaptor.) Also, your phone most likely won't work here in Europe anyway, unless you have a mega plan in America and you'll pay out the wazoo for calls. Anything else, be sure you have a CONVERTER (changes the electricity) and adaptors (change the shape of the plug). Don't buy the cheapest thing you can find, either... the quality will be bad and could fry your stuff. I've had it happen.

If you're coming from UK, OZ, etc... you should just need adaptors, which can often be bought here in Europe for less.

You need a transformer to down grade the voltage to 115v from European mains of 230v.

Watch out, apart from the UK type, there are two types of socket on the continent.
They are similar, but one type has an earth pin. If you have the wrong plug it won't fit, as there's no hole for this pin, (that happened to me last time in France).

Best to ask at a decent electrical shop.

I got mine at Radio Shack and they were perfect. I used the French and the English versions. My kit had 5 converters in it, total. I just used those 2.
