I need to know about i certain Italian work of art by Michealangelo. It is one where he painted an entire room by lying down on certain things so he could paint the ceiling. I am asking about what its name was. When it was unveiled people were slightly shocked because it showed some nudity , so they had to spend some time to paint robes on them before they could show it to the public. That is all the information I have and please answer if you know. Also please do not post unnecessary spam here, I only want an answer. No questions either.

The Sistine Chapel at the Vatican. A bit of trivia for the tourist; apparently the figure of a demon over the doorway where tourists enter the Chapel was based on a bishop that Michealangelo had had issues with while painting the Chapel. The painting in the Chapel was restored about 12 years ago and it is truly a magnificent work of art

Actually, it was the judgment wall behind the altar in the Sistine Chapel. People were offended by the unveiling of the natural parts of saints & perhaps very offended by the portrayal of the punishments of the sodimites. So they hired some one else to go back and cover up the "obscenities".

In Italian it is called La Capella Sistina. Indeed, it was shaocking to the people of his time because even God was painted naked, and God was not supposed to represent any kind of sexuality.
