I am a disabaled vet who can only word for about four hours at a time. I am looking for some type of home business I can get into to supplement my income. I have tried some of those that say you can make a decent income, but all they did was rip me off or no income at all. Any suggestions?

It's a shame that when you ask a question you get the same person disguising their same answer. He is just taking advantage of the system to promote his own business. (You know who I am talking about.) One more response from you and you will be reported. I did not ask the question to make you rich.

Do you want an affiliate business, where you sign people up to work under you; or do you want to actually do the work?
Affiliate business on the average are free to join, but it does take some time to build a business. Whereas you can do surveys, data entry or typing at home for example, and earn money right off.
When looking into any business check with the Better Business Bureau online to see if there are any complaints about the company you want to do business with. This should save you the hassle of having to deal with "scam" companies. There are a lot of legitimate companies that have good reputations that do pay that operate strictly online.
Decide how far you want to take a home based business and what are your expectations from it. Just because they ask for money up front does not mean they are ripoffs. Find out why they are asking for money. Call them, if they have a contact number, email them, you should be able to contact the owners of the companies you are signing up with, or at least their company. If you can't stay away from them.
I have several on my site that are legit and will pay you, but be advised a decent income comes with time, not overnight! It takes a lot of work!

There is no Get Rich Quick scheme that you can do from home, or anywhere for that matter.
There are businesses you can do from home. However, just like a real business the more effort you put into it the more rewards you get out of it. There are exceptions, of course, with some people being in the right place at the right time but overall it takes work.
In order to not get ripped of do not go after any jobs that make you pay up front for their service. You will have to pay for things like a Computer, Printers or general office supplies but do not get involved with anyone who is offering to sell you lists for xyz...
Once you find a opportunity that looks good, research it and see if it legitimate and see what the competition is out there. If you are competing against 30-40 other people in your same area it could be tough. If you are the only one that is better for you.
As for which type you can do check out this link that gives a lot of suggestions.

Network Marketing is not all about getting rich quick. Network Marketing as a career alternative is exploding among professionals as a "plan B.' As more and more companies are slimming down their payrolls and their pension-plans, professionals recognize that their plan to retire with the company may not be a reality. With the current state of Social Security and the small pensions that most will receive, most people will not be able to live comfortably on this. A network marketing company with a good/great compensation plan provides a residual income on which one can rely.
I entered the network marketing world one year ago with a fabulous, solid, legitimate company. With a lot of hard work and personal growth, I am on track to be able to leave my current JOB as a software support specialist by the end of 2006. Starting in 2007, I will continue to teach, manage and grow my business - all from home, working my own hours. Network Marketing is allowing me to be able to be home at 3:00 PM when my daughters get home from school.

I have found several legitimate work at home sites so far, and one of them made me $494+ in October, $700+ in November, and $838.57 in December. They are free to join.
Please click my screen name or avatar for more information and a link for proof of payment.
And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.
