If the BCS system was used in the NFL the superbowl would likely be San Diego vs Baltimore. That is assuming Baltimore received more votes then the same record Chicago Bears. Baltimore definitely may have won the votes because they finished stronger and beat the #1 seed San Diego. Do you hate the BCS as much as I do?

The BCS is garbage that rewards consistency above all else. It doesn't matter how teams match up out of conference all that matters is you don't have one bad game inside conference.

Felix actually I don't think you would look at it as San Diego and Baltimore being in the same divison although they are same conference. Since one is north and one is west. Also the BCS has six major conferences. But anyway you know what I mean the BCS just sucks.

Actually, the BCS would have had San Diego vs. Chicago, because Baltimore and San Diego are in the same conference (OSU & Michigan).

Who cares. That's why the playoffs rock.

Here's the definitive line...The BCS SUCKS!!!

If if become as a lot as me, i'd blow off any interest of the bowl video games and bypass with a 16 communities playoff device starting up after the convention championship video games. even though it is no longer sensible to imagine the NCAA will dollar adversarial to the entrenched bowl powers and their gadzooka tens of millions of money. So, i'd see 2 achievable concepts to have a real nationwide championship pastime and if truth be told take care of the present bowl pastime structure. First, form the FBS playoff after the 16 crew FCS device, which starts in previous due November and leads to mid-December. For the FBS, i'd commence the playoffs later, and performance the semi-finals someplace round December twentieth. each and each of the communities failing to make the finals ought to settle for classic bowl pastime bids, as interior the previous. The 16 communities will be chosen through a spread and seeding committee reminiscent of the NCAA Basketball committee. Memo to the NCAA: i'd be accessible to chair reported committee. The NC pastime will be held Jan 2,3, 4.. and so on.. reckoning on the calendar. If there is no longer adequate time for the dropping communities of the semi-finals to settle for bids for bowl video games, then a chosen bowl or a sparkling bowl will be time-honored for those 2 communities to quickly play. For this function to artwork, the convention championship video games would want to be moved a week previously interior the agenda. this may effect countless the classic Thanksgiving day or day after video games. yet in case you imagine about it, having the convention championship video games over the Thanksgiving weekend will be very cool. the 2d option will be to have the playoffs after the bowl video games. The aforementioned determination committee, that i'd be prepared to chair, would announce the members after the classic bowl season is compete. this may be an 8 or 16 crew playoff. A crew prevailing a bowl pastime doesn't immediately supply them an section interior the playoffs, yet would for sure, like each previous due season win, improve their opportunities. Conversely, a loss would harm their opportunities yet no longer get rid of them. If a 16 crew playoff is used, the finals will be on the properly of January or, if wanted, perhaps in the course of the NFL bye week previously the great Bowl. Of both concepts, i'd favor to bypass with the first. the properly of the faculty season will be more suitable classic, and the December video games would fill the present void of so few video games in the course of the month.

Though I normally like the playoff format better, I truly believe it failed to give us a worthy Super Bowl this year. I'm very disappointed in how things fell out as this could be the worst match up ever with two severely flawed teams.

Normally at least one team...not always the one that wins...looks like Goliath (like when the Bears played the Pats in '86, or when the Packers played the Broncos in '97).

Nobody likes a sore looser. You'll have to settle for Colts vs. Bears.
