I would like to also know your political stand - liberal, centrist, conservative or in between. This isn't a party question (so I don't care if you are a Republican, Democrat or other).
You may include things such as tithes, offerings to religious organizations other than a church, synagogue or mosque and any non-sectarian charities. This can include cash or other assets (like a donated vehicle).

Hey Tolerant Liberal - I'm not a neocon, and it's pretty clear to all of us how much you donate.

I don't really talk about this publicly. I am waiting for an eternal reward, so I don't need it here.
But lets just say I live on as little as I can. Taxes get a huge chunk, and its safe to say we can consider that charity.
Oh, and I'm very Conservative.

around 30% but thats because I beleive in the "giveway" which is part of my spiritual walk as an American Indian, very little is donated to 503 (1) (c) charities, but to actual people in need that I know of, since I come from a humble beginning on the rservation , and Pine Ridge reservation has the lowest per capita income of anywhere in the US, I do know quite a few truly needy individuals, some are elderly, some even care for foster children without compensation, and others I meet in daily life who could use a hand up not a hand out. I am middle of ther road with semi liberal leanings on some issues and conservative leanings on others

I personally don't make enough money to contribute a percentage to charity as I'm almost a charity case myself. However I do give a few dollars in church every week and when I can I'll donate some amount to a cause I feel is worthy, though I lack the funds to do so regularly.

The percentage changes as my husband's paychecks change. He's a bricklayer and his income differs depending on many factors. I've gone back to school recently and quit working to do so, so expenses vary. But I'd say the average is 5-7% of our monthly income. We still regularly donate goods and money for Katrina, and contributions to Make-A-Wish and Special Olympics are two of our favorites for contributions.

I donate absolutely nothing to charity. I only buy Girl Scout cookies because it's my friends daughter. Ibelieve that charities that work to help social or medical problems should not have to rely on handouts, which can go away at any time. The govt should fund research into diseases, and solve other social problems, such as the homeless.
I donate a ton of money to left wing political organizations that work to improve conditions through laws.

I take dog food to the animal shelter. that is my charity. Many organizations use 80% for administration. Churches are now guilty of political preaching. I'm Independent.

About 3-4%.
Conservative.
PS I forgot donations of time and services - that would up it to about 7-8% (value of services).

I don't keep track of it but I do give some. I should do more but I do get worried about having enough for my family. I am Conservative or at least that is what they tell me.
