Hello,
(ANS) Be careful DONT get confused between a Trojen horse infection (probably a downloader type trojen) and a virus these are different things, they are NOT the same.
**A trojen horse infection may well go undetected by anti virus software program, why? because its NOT a virus and doesnt behave like a virus either.
**here are two programs that can & will detect the presence of a trojen horse infection:- (both are 100% freeware)
a) SpyBot Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/
b) A2Squared
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
**Trojen horse infections by and large DONT replicate themselves unlike most viruses (dont behave like viruses).
**Trojen horse infections can be quite tricky to remove as they can be quite clever and cloak themselves and some even try to disable your anti virus or security software (like Norton) or firewall software.
**You can only remove a trojen once its been uncloaked and removed from your systems memory too.
Hope that helps?

If you read the symantec's removal instructions,
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2007-011917-1403-99&tabid=3
These are the steps you need to follow
1) disable system restore
2) Update Norton antivirus
3) Boot in safe mode and run virus scan and let it delete whatever it finds harmful.
There is only one step that you have to carry out manually, to delete the key mentioned below from registry. For that you have to edit windows registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ wincom32
The link below explains how to carry out the steps mentioned here

Best thing to do is get rid of it. Boot up your computer - keeping hitting with your finger the F8 Button. You'll see a menu - choose SAFE MODE. Get into safe mode ( you might need your admin password) and run a virus scan with your Norton Security.

Trojan.Peacomm is a Trojan horse that drops a driver program file to download another program. Trojan.Peacomm is reportedly attached to spammed email.

You need to run a scan and clean and delete the Trojan. If it has attached its self to one or more files you may need help cleaning it.
Should cost about £20

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from CA.
