of beating any Republican nominee? It is vital that we choose the one with the best chance of winning so that we can reverse the current trend that is eroding the middle class and turning America into a banana republic.

Of the current crop of Dem's running, I'd say Richardson is the best qualified... He's not polarizing like Clinton, and he's not a rookie like Obama. Plus, being a latino, he can really unite the party and take advantage of a strong constituency.

And this is coming from a GOP'er.

I could actually vote for Richardson and not feel like I had just kissed my sister.

Of course this is just an opinion but I place the current nominee's in the following 'chance to win' order:

1) Edwards tied with
1) O'Bama
2) Clinton

There is one person who appears to not be running. If he announced I would put his name high on the list (and vote for him!).

As for 'lifesajoy': It cannot be any sense of patriotism, so what exactly propells you to spread lies this way. Have you ever done any research before making your comments? Do you really believe what you have said about O'Bamam being a Muslim? You are iether sadly misinformed and do not posess the basic intelligence to read up on current events, or you are just a liar. Which is it?

Vilsac.

I know he's kind of an underdog, but he has a few things going for him.

He's from the midwest, so he would have a good chance of pulling in votes from places like Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, etc. A lot of these states, even though they may have a democrat-controlled local govt. go republican in national elections.

He's a moderate. If this country needs anything, it's a moderate.

I'm not sure on this one, but I think he was presiding over a republican-controlled legislature, meaning that he knows how to work in a bi-partisan manner.

That's just me, though.

Governor Richardson has the best chance of possibly beating a Republican. However, although I am a conservative Democrat, I want to vote for Republican Mitt Romney (former Governor of Mass.) if Governor Richardson decides not to run. I hope either Romney or Richardson gets the nod of their respective parties. :-)

Hillary is the strongest candidate, hands down.Obama is very charismatic, however he has only served in the senate a short time and I am afraid,if nominated, he would make a serious mistake that could cost the Democrats the election and, like you said, it is vital the Dems choose someone who can win. He will be ready eventually, but this is Hillary's time to shine.

Hillary
But I have not as yet determined if she is the biblical Anti-Christ or the Whore of Babylon.
I vote for the best person that brings with them the best policies.
Maybe John Edwards.
But never Hillary.
To tell the truth I would rather vote for Donald Rumsfeld for president than vote for Hillary.

Obama can i think. he has the opportunity to really make a change in politics. if he keeps his campaign fresh, honest, and maintains the integrity that he seems to have built his career on, he will get Americans excited about politics. Not to mention that because of his race, he will pull minorities, women, and youth to the polls.

I think the Republican party will take a major hit this time around. I think George W. may have hurt us real bad.
