If not then why are the CEOs of Alcoa, Dupont, GE, BP, Caterpillar, etc. asking him to address global warming?

When big business recognizes an environmental threat before the president does we're pretty much up the river - agree?

It's truly sad that the leadership in this country is so ignorant.

On the flip side the majority of the American public is now, finally, able to see it.

I dont think hes the worst ever! I think all presidents have overlooked global warming and environmental conditions in the past. This has just reached a time of crisis from the previous years of neglect. People give the president too much power. He can only do what congress and the citizens of this country are willing to do. On 9/11 the whole country rallied behind President Bush to retaliate against terrorists and to protect our safety. Now because it actually takes time and work and everyone has to sacrifice for the better good. We like to complain more than to do our share.. Like pay mor e for gas. Remember when Japan bombed pearl Harbor and the country and to contribute to the war effort donating scrap metal, women went to work, food was rationed and everyone scrimped and saved. Now we are a nation of snobs and if the cable is out we think it disrupts our entire life and every small inconvenience is Bush's fault. Stand up and do something proactive. Use solar power, less hot water, turn your cable off, carpool, plant a garden, recycle..

No he's not. Carter was. As far as the other question, if you had a business, wouldn't you want the government to sell your products for you. Its hard to sell a $20 lightbulb on your own.
