Rachel if you are not sexually active with this young man then there is nothing that the state can do against him in any court of law. Your mother may be concerned that you are or will become sexually active with him and thus trying to either scare you or warn you what will happen if you do decide to do so. If your mom does attempt to do so you will be asked to give evidence also and if you say that he hasn't tried to be active with you then case will be dismissed. Best of luck and perhaps if you try and explain better to your mom your relationship with this young fella she may come to understand better and cease this charge against him.

How did you meet this person? She coiuld be worried if you met them randomly, especially with all of the children that have gone missing. I would ask her if she would sit down and talk toyou about it, rationally. Share valid points. Tell her that you are not having sex with him, and back it up with things such as you two not being alone together, etc. It does seem a little odd that he is 5 years older than you and your best friend, but If you were 21 he would only be 26. However, at 16 you are still in highschool, you can't drink, he can. She does haev the right to be worried about you, but you can also be proactive in this and talk to her, one on one and let herk now that you understand her feelings. Letting her know that you hear what she is saying and that you understand where she is coming from may lessen things for you.
