To understand a dream, it’s helpful to keep in mind why and how we dream. When we sleep, the body and perception systems are shut down, but the brain remains active. The brain thinks about what has recently been most active during waking hours—experiences, thoughts and feelings accessed recently whether consciously or not. The brain is still active, so it works on this content, but not in a familiar, rational way. During sleep, this material is not related using input from the external real world, but rather by the brain connections already established in the cortex. So the story connectedness isn’t like everyday experience, but rather a strange, circuitous flow from one image to the next. So dreams aren’t magical messages to guide our life, but dream imagery is taken from everyday experiences, thoughts and feelings that matter most to us during our waking life. So it’s a mistake to apply standard symbol definitions, such as Freudian meanings. All you need to do is think about what kind of imagery it is and how it relates to your daily life.

Whether consciously or unconsciously, even though you have a great boyfriend, you still spend time dwelling on what it would be like with other guys. It may be that you haven't been with very many guys and you're really curious. So this desire continues in your mind while asleep and your brain puts together remembered and imagined details into the composite dream guy for you.

The world of dreams does not follow the rules that apply in our waking world . Dreams often contain messages from the unconscious part of your psyche - they tell you or warn you about things that you are not aware of.
Since this is a recurring dream and this guy keeps popping up , your subconscious is trying to get your attention and tell you something. The guy in your dream may be one aspect of yourself.
Describe the guy. How does he make you feel ? What is he like ? What do you like about him ? What don't you like about him ? Would you like to change him in any way ?
Anwsers to these questions should give you a clue.

Maybe your sex dream is still to come. Patience . It will come when you are ready ... or.. maybe not . Either way it is o,k,

maybe you feel your boyfriend is the mysterious man.,by that I mean, that you wonder if you really know him well. Can you really trust him?
Its interesting to note you mention having sex. So perhaps you want to have sex, with your boyfriend, but wonder what he would be like sexually.
It is a mysterious side to him you have yet to experience.
You don't say how you feel about the mystery man, so I cannot guess what your emotions about the physical side of your relationship might be, whether you are anxious or excited by it,which might hint at your feeling about having sex with your boyfriend

A male figure in a woman's dream is often the animus, an archetype, sort of like your male self in an idealised way. The equivalent in a man's dream is the anima, his idealised feminine self. We are all made from both male and female in our minds and souls. If you can interact with your animus in dreams, you can learn a great deal about you inner self.

The unknown man in a girl's dream is her 'animus'. Animus is a term in analytical psychology meaning the male aspect of a female, as there is 'anima' for men. Both these figures are of importance for the dreamers.

I would need more details, but this guy in your dream is probably representing your current boyfriend, or someone else in your life, or he is a representation of a feeling you have. It doesn't mean that you want to be with anyone else.
