I am going to TwinsFest this Saturday, and I know the players can autograph things. Which is a better idea: to have them autograph my 2006 Twins yearbook or individual player cards? I am thinking 30 or 40 years down the road; which would be more valuable? Doesn't it lessen the value of a card to have it signed?

Thanks! : )

By the way...these are random, misc. baseball cards (not rookies or anything)

By the way...the cards aren't rookies or anything. I checked, and they are worth practically nothing. That's why I asked this Q...

Cards are definitely more collectible, and unless you get the whole team on a yearbook, it really isn't as good of an item. In terms of being worth something, it's better to have a specific players autograph on something, or the entire team... not a partial team. I know it's near impossible to get the entire team at Twinsfest too, unless you have your own "team" working on it.
At Twinsfest I use my yearbook simply to collect auto's from younger guys that I don't have any cards of... because I feel bad skipping them inthe line. (ie. Jake Mauer)
Get your cards, 8x10's, and Ball's signed, they are a lot easier to display in your home as well. See you there, I will be working at the "33 for MVP" table.

Between the yearbook and the cards I would say the cards. If you want to authenticate the autograph down the road, all you have to do is take a picture of the player signing the card and then send copies of the picture when you sell the card. You can even type of a Certificate of Authenticity listing the date and where it was signed and include the picture and it'll sell higher than if you just sold the card alone. I do agree with the person above, a baseball would have better value, just do the same with the pictures of the players signing them.

You should really go with whatever means the most to you. Would you get more joy out of having individually autographed cards or a yearbook signed by several members of that team? An autograph does NOT devalue the card.

From a collectors standpoint, an autographed yearbook would probably be worth more.

I would get an official baseball and try to have them sign it. I don't know if the whole team will be there, but that ball should be worth quite a bit - right now! If Johan, Mauer and Morneau sign it, you could probably get a nice penny for it. The official baseball costs about $10-$12 bucks at any sporting good store.

It will be worth more that the yearbook or individual cards.

Well since u can sell the cards individually it may make more sense to get the cards personalized. The yearbook will be worth a ton but say you wanna keep some of the guys autorgraphs, and done wanna sell em all then what?

If your looking to sell them your best bet is get baseballs signed. But I would go with the cards or get a friend to go with you and let them get the cards signed and you get the yearbook signed.

IMO it lessens the value of a card to have it signed. Simply due to the fact that you can prove it authentic.

If it were me, I'd have them sign the yearbook.

Update:
If they are random cards that are nearly worthless anyway...then go ahead and have those signed. But I would preserve expensive ones.

Have them do it individual cards. Then it will be worth more and you will also remember who it is.
