The next two weeks you are going to hear a lot of talk from the media about how Tony Dungee and Lovie Smith will be the first two black head coaches to coach in the Super Bowl and how great of an accomplishment it is and yada yada yada. Is it just me, or is it the left media who constantly brings up race issues when the majority of Americans dont even care. I dont look at the teams and say wow, a black head coach is going to the super bowl. I look at it as two great coaches are going to the big game. They earned it and fought hard. They fought there way up the ladder and made some great accomplishments. Not because they are black, but because of their talent and skill. The media plays things like this off as milestones and what not and always brings race in to it. They also look at the fact that their are 4 black head coaches in the league and they say 'we have such a long way to go' What??? This is just stupid.

The best man should get the job, no matter of what color they are and I think that is basically the way it is. But the media plays it out like there is something not right. Like something is happening that prevents more black coaches based on their skin color. We have come a long way from the days of discrimination and I believe the majority of the nation doesnt base things on people color when it comes to opportunities. But the media and other far left people do. This is just another way that the media is so liberal and uses their forum for their own purposes. Its all political and its pathetic. What do you think?

Mrs. Kay, the only reason it is still a big issue in our society is because some people want it to be. The media and people like Al Sharpton are the likes who keep bring race up any chance they get. Most normal everyday people have no issues with race. Some people want you to think everyone does but that is only to stir controversy. When some our for trying to stop terrorism and prevent attacks some idiots want to cry racism when its not even about that. When we want to protect our laws as far as illegal immigrants the media and others cry racism when its not about that at all. The racial barrier has been broken down. Sure there will always be some that still have major race issues but it is a minority. There are some race issues going on but its from all groups - white, black, brown, etc etc. My only point of all this is, as long as the media and some concentrate on race like they do, we will never think we moved forward when we actually have.

It's all a bunch of bunk. You got two good coaches, with two good teams, gonna play in the Superbowl. They got there because they know what they are doing, their teams have worked hard, and they deserve it.
It's not because they are white, black, plaid, or whatever. Who cares.

It's anything to get a news rating. I don't even watch the news, it's just full of junk and propaganda. If you don't know right from wrong in your own mind, you're probably better off just parked in front of a T.V. and doing nothing in the real world.

Go Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since it is the first time this has happened the media is going to make a big deal about it. Don't worry though. I think after February you won't hear much about it. As for me I don't care what color the coaches are as long as Da Bears win.

And then they turn around and wonder why there is still racism today. I'm as racist as the next guy, but I always had a liking for Tony Dungy since he was at Tampa and his color didn't bother me nor was it hardly noticed. But they had to ask, so I guess he had to answer, "It means a lot," Dungy said. "I'm very proud to be representing African-Americans. I'm very proud of Lovie". If I played basketball for Southern University and was the only white person on the team and was high scorer, I can just imagine how many times I would be asked, "How does it feel to be white and........." Then I would answer, "I'm very proud to represent white people".

it keeps coming up because it is still a big issue in our society today. I think it is a big accomplishment for 2 african american coaches to be in the superbowl b/c it is a first in history. and even though the thought of these coaches getting to where they are based solely on their skill is a nice one, many times it isnt that way. but a lot of people don't understand why race is such a big deal because they don't have to deal with it on a day to day basis.
