I am 31 weeks pregnant. Earlier I was weighing 152pounds. I have gained just 8 pounds total so far.
Is it OK? I am kind of worried.

I only gained 17lbs. total with my first child and 15lbs. with my second. Is your doctor concerned? If your doctor is concerned, you should be too. But, If your doctor is not concerned, don't worry. The doctor uses weight gain, waist measurements and other ways to measure your baby's growth. If your still concerned ask your O.B. about it at your next appointment.

I think your weight gain is under the normal range. I gained 25 lbs with the first, 30 with the second, and about 20 with the 3rd. I would ask your doctor.

This depends on what you are like to begin with. If you were overweight, then it is normal and not a big deal at all. If you were average weight, this is probably below normal. I am trusting you are seeking prenatal care and if the doctor has not made an issue of your weight gain (or lackthereof) then you must be doing just fine. Congrats on your upcoming buddle of joy and take care!

BE THANKFUL!!! you are too lucky. i am at 35 weeks, and i started at 110 lbs. now i weigh 170. i wouldnt worry at all about your weight gain. most docs say to gain an average of about 25-30 lbs, depending on your starting weight. unless you were pretty darn tall, you were probably slightly overweight to begin with, so you shouldnt gain that much. as long as your baby is growing properly, you have nothing to worry about!

Is it OK? errr i donno, IUGR is a definitly possibility with little weight gain during pregnancy, but it's not a sure bet... if your doc isn't worried thus far, then I wouldn't be worried either, you're only 31w so you could easily put on 10lbs from now till your 40w pregnant... and even if you don't, as long as your taking your prenatals, eating well balanced full portion meals and drinking plenty of water you have nothing to be worried about.

You can figure on gaining about 3 lbs. per month min. Just eat healthy and take vitamins and excersize. Don't worry so much about numbers on a scale.

Depending on your height, it might be OK. If you were a little overweight to begin with then it's OK not to gain as much. Talk with you doctor and he/she should be able to tell you whether you are on track.
