In response to the answer above: is that a joke? I can't imagine why people would worship a god that is so self-absorbed that he merely wants to be worshiped!

I think if there is a god, s/he would have created things with a hands-off approach, and therefore things are just playing out on an epic scale. And, if there's an afterlife, I would guess all humans would go, since god would have designed us to act as we do.

Your life is a gift from God because he loves you. You are here for one reason.... to answer "yes" or "no" to God's question. Will you accept him or not. You only have one chance to do so... a single life time. Compared to an eternity it is a very short time in which to to decide your eternal fate. Nothing else in creation can tell God "no" except you. Of your own "free will" he wants you to love him.

God wants us to worship him freely and loving all others ; go teach others about Him -- spread the Gospel. Let others know of his unconditional love and salvation. To leave Satan alone even tho God gave us free-will.

I tell you, if I knew, I wouldn't feel so confused. My whole thing is, I want to do, what it is, that God will find satisfactory. Already left friends behind, jobs, habits, things I felt were going to help land me a place in the hot seat. Continue to pray and wait on the Will to be discovered is what I will personally do.
God bless us all...

religion is a touchy subject. everyone has their on opinions and this is mine. i think that god wants us to live our life for him. he wants us to obey his commandments. examples would be like obey your mother and father , dont steal , dont worship false idols. god wants us to help each other. love each other. be compassionate. god wants us to stand up for him every day of our lives no matter how bad we get knocked down. like all these people that are out there that say we should take under god out of the pledge of allegiance. or the ones that think the ten commandments should be taken out of public places. we should stand up against that. more than anything i believe that god wants us to believe in him. accept him into our hearts and though we will always be sinners here on earth ask for forgivness of all our sins. and god wants us to talk to him. pray and believe and spread the word about him is the main things i believe. and remember no matter how good you live your life if you dont accept him into your heart and ask for forgivness of your sins you will not make it into the kingdom of heaven. i also would suggest that you talk to a preacher and/or attend church in your area for more and better help on your question.

Are you sure there's a God?

2007-01-22 13:06:03 · answer #9 · answered by Kristie 3 · 1 0

To love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy mind with all thy soul. He made us for himself and wants us unto himself. Serve the Lord with gladness and enter his courts with praise.

You meant so much to him that he sent his only begotten Son to save us from the wages of sin (which is a death you would not want).

He is worthy and deserving of that which he wants from us.

Read the Ten Commandments. That is what "God" wants from us.
It's very simple to do.
