The next two weeks you are going to hear a lot of talk from the media about how Tony Dungee and Lovie Smith will be the first two black head coaches to coach in the Super Bowl and how great of an accomplishment it is and yada yada yada. Is it just me, or is it the left media who constantly brings up race issues when the majority of Americans dont even care. I dont look at the teams and say wow, a black head coach is going to the super bowl. I look at it as two great coaches are going to the big game. They earned it and fought hard. They fought there way up the ladder and made some great accomplishments. Not because they are black, but because of their talent and skill. The media plays things like this off as milestones and what not and always brings race in to it. They also look at the fact that their are 4 black head coaches in the league and they say 'we have such a long way to go' What??? This is just stupid.

The best man should get the job, no matter of what color they are and I think that is basically the way it is. But the media plays it out like there is something not right. Like something is happening that prevents more black coaches based on their skin color. We have come a long way from the days of discrimination and I believe the majority of the nation doesnt base things on people color when it comes to opportunities. But the media and other far left people do. This is just another way that the media is so liberal and uses their forum for their own purposes. Its all political and its pathetic. What do you think?

I dont ever hear the media mention that about 75 percent of the players are black. And when it was mentioned to Tony last night, he didnt care. He wanted to talk about his teams victory and concentrate on what they accomplished. Him being black has nothing to do with nothing. He is a great coach. Not because he is black. It just seems the media makes such a big deal out of things like this. And I think the only people that agree are that ignorant, racist Al Sharpton and his followers.

I dont mean to try and take away the fact that they are black completely. I think its great but come on. Let it go. Talking about the race issue almost takes away what they really have achieved. The fact that they are the two best teams in the NFL right now. Hard work, determination, and excellent coaching got them there and that is what they are most proud of. Not the color factor.

I agree that its a interesting thing to have too black coaches in the Super Bowl, however is it necessary to talk about it like its the first black president. And to bring it up in every interview come on already when the first white coaches went to the super bowl was their race a factor.? Dont get me wrong its a great thing they are talented men who coached their teams exceptionally well but I dont think they did that because they are black white spanish chinese . It just proves that this country still looks at what color you are not just what you do.
What I wanted to know is why The Colts didnt dump the Gatoraide on Dungy when they won?? Thats my favorite part and it just didnt happen.....
Im just happy for Dungy we miss him in Tampa and he got cheated out of our super bowl Gruden walked into what Dungy created and he has not been able to reproduce it since

I agree. What if the media focused Art Shell and Dennis Green losing their jobs at the end of the season? That would probably be considered racist, right? Bottom line, it will be nice when people are all looked at the same and judged simply on performance. Congratulations to Tony Dungee and Lovie Smith. It's great that they were the first African American head coaches to see the Super Bowl. That is why the media is covering the story in this way. But next year if an African American head coach goes to the big game I don't want to hear a word about it because it obviously won't be special anymore.

Well it is a big issue. you probably don't remember, that the NFL was segregated until the mid 60's and by the 70's most of the players where black, but there were almost no black coaches. So, this is a big deal for Lovie and Tony, I celebrate that for them. I too wish is would go away. Great coaches and owners only see the color of the jerseys. I think I have seen just as many white kids as black, wearing McNabb, Vick, and soon Vince Young jerseys, simply because they are good players
