I am sure in the case of no toilet paper that newspaper would work. I would not flush it though. Wrap it in plastic or put in a ziplock baggie and discard. Have never run out of toilet paper. Probably never will, as that is a priority of mine.

Never ran out, you should consider keeping wipes in the bathroom, storing extra rolls in the bathroom. Newspaper is used for people maybe on a camping trip. Newspaper work, but it is highly un-sanitary.

Ouch! Nothing softer in the house? When you're desperate, you're desperate. I've used leaves out in the woods, so what's a little newspaper? Oh, I buy toilet paper in bulk now.

greater hygeinic then some thing from the trash yet for my area i could have looked around for a speedy nutrition serviette or paper towel. Agreed newspaper is greater effective than your hand. possibly an old wash fabric which you wouldnt techniques tossing after. I see a bathtub on your close to destiny. playstation : Dont forget to disinfect (the bathe).
