I mean...there's a ton of'em all within their own styles. I don't know how you can pick just one, all supreme, guitarist.

Just my opinion.

I would argue for bucket head. Although Robinson from the Black Crows is an awesome player from the feeling camp of blues based guitar. Clapton and Neil Shaun as well as Rik Emmit are still alive and so is BB King the truth is there are so many great players that it is not a general question it must be asked by the player/fan of himself and then answered for and by himself.

Tough question but if you mean as far as rock/metal goes then I would say Eddie Van Halen or Zakk Wylde. Eddie's earlier music was awsome but thier more recent stuff just doesn't hold a candle to thier older material before Hagar took over. Same way with Zakk his earlier music with Ozzy was great but it seemed like Ozzy's more recent albums that came out his playing just isn't what it used to be.

Eric Clapton. Look at his career. John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Blind Faith, Cream, Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, Derek and the Dominoes, and his solo career. If you've attended on of his recent concerts, you know he still has the speed to really shred.

Wow tough one!! I really love Steve Vai - I have seen him in concert and he was amazing!! So he would have my vote!!
But I do agree with many other's that I guess it depends on what king of music you like.
