hi, i use most of the above but the one i use the most is not on there - www02.pogo.com (no . between the www and 02!) its an american based site, but is great! They have lots of games on there - some you play with other people, some by yourself, some you can buy, and some that you can download for free just as you asked. You have to register with them but its definatley worth it, as theres no fee involved. If you want to upgrade however you can pay the yearly or monthly membership fee.
