Football started in England early in the 1800's, this was taken over the pond and was adopted by the Americans and changed into American Football, same as Rounders into Baseball, Netball into Basket Ball. All deserve to call the game what they want, as long as they enjoy the game!!

I don't know who first used the word Football, but it's immaterial since both have the right to be called Football, they're just different games. You see,one is American Football and the other is Association football.we also have Rugby Football, don't we?As for why Americans call it soccer, the 'soc' part is the same 'soc' that's part of the word 'Association',so it helps them make the distinction more easily in a place where their own kind of football is much more of a household name.

i'm no longer british yet I do get mad. it is so stressful that I could communicate over with the real soccer as soccer as quickly as I communicate with an American so they do no longer think of i like watching their rubbish American soccer (it relatively is an completely lame version of rugby with padding, it style of feels). God is conscious from what perspective their recreation could nicely be observed as soccer. They probable got here up with that call to fool the human beings public and make it standard there.
