Now this is an old wives tale I thik and I don't know the success rate but you are suppose to have sex the day you ovulate to have a boy. the male sperms are in a rush to get to the egg and will reach it first and try to fight through. The female sperm are a bit slower and take their time to get there. They say if youe want a girl, have sex about 2 days before ovulation and not on the day you ovulate. For a boy, the day you ovulate.

I've got 4 boys. I can't tell you exactly how or why I can't seem to have a girl. I have always heard that having sex closer to your actual ovulation is a better bet for getting a boy because they swim faster and are stonger.
