I was a DJ and news director on the radio for several years and can tell you that not showing up for an assignment is a major problem. It's one thing if you are sick and call in but simply not showing up is unacceptable in broadcasting.

If WNCI lets Weasel Boy resume his work as though nothing happened, the station opens itself to more of this behavior. One day, somebody not showing up for an assignment will REALLY cause problems and the station will have brought it on itself.

Part of taking a job in broadcasting is knowing that knowing that you have to be there every day and act responsibly. Sure, on-air talent can act goofy but they have to be dead serious about showing up for their assignments.
