I know this is public information in New York State. I actually had the link once before but cannot find it. Please help!

ask one of the people that sell goods on the street how much a home costs. then haggle and complain for half an hour to talk the price down, finally take another 50% off whatever "final price" has been settled on and that should be pretty close to the real price of a house in NYC

Go to the country assessors office and look up the assessment, which should be based on the sales price. Its public record. This info won't do you any good in the bargaining arena, its worth whatever the market will bear today. Go see a Realtor for the best current market analysis.
