Two months old is far too young to start giving solids. He should just be on breastmilk or formula until he shows signs of wanting to wean (usually between five or six months) You should never add cereal to his bottle. Just give him formula and some sips of cooled previously boiled water.
Some babies have naturally sluggish bowels and don't poo that often. Provided the poo is soft and the baby is not straining then this is not constipation.
You could also try massaging his tummy (gently) in a clockwise direction using a little olive oil. Do this after his bath so he is nice and relaxed. The most important thing is to stop giving him solid food. Stick to formula only ( read the instructions about how much water to use when making up.

Did your doctor tell you to put him on cereal? If he is growing that well at 2 months I do not see why he would need cereal. There is iron in the cereal that he is not used to which is most likely causing him to be constipated. Most babys do not need cereal till they are about 6 months unless there is some medical reason that the doctor suggests it.I would say stop giving him the cereal and let his little digestive system mature a little more.Good luck.

Stop feeding him all that stuff! His little system is not ready for it and that's why he's having problems. No cereal, no juice, no water. Until he is 6 mos old, all he is supposed to eat is breastmilk or formula. It doesn't matter how much he weighs. His little tummy won't have the enzymes needed to digest anything else until he is around 6 mos of age.

I don't know about your doc, but mine I can call the nurse and get answers to questions like this over the phone. Sometimes I was told to use infant suppositories. I don't remember how young mine was then.
Also, my friend's baby had problems like this, and it turned out that she had a very small sphincter. If halting the cereal doesn't help, be sure to see the doctor.

replacing formulation typically must be dreadful for a newborn. you may grant you with newborn a touch water with karo syrup, the sugar will bring about a bowel flow. also, even idea the Drs do not allow you to recognize or gained't propose you a touch water an afternoon enables develop bowel moves and can provide your toddler something else to drink as well formulation. although, you don't need to modify a feeding with water, purely introduce him to three small sips an afternoon. I did it with my daughter and he or she is a superbly healthful 33 lb 2 12 months previous.

Glycerin suppositories. My son was constipated at 5 weeks and the dr recommended these. They are sold over the counter and are for babies. Just ask the pharmacist if the have them. They don't want you to use them too often though. They work within minutes.

He is way to young for cereal. His digestive system isn't developed enough yet. Try giving him corn syrup diluted with water. Not too much though. Try one ounce syrup to two ounces of water. Also try bending his knees up to his chest and back down again. Do this a few times, it will help him to push.

Add a little mineral oil to his bottle. He should easily pass a decent BM by the next day. This worked for both of my children.

When my little girl suffered from constipation, the doctor told me to try Milk of Magnesia. However, this is a medication so you should contact your doctor's office to make sure that it is okay and get the correct dosage.

He is not handling the cereal, he doesnt need anything except formula, or breast milk until 6 months. No need rushing it, his little body cant handle that right now.
