I have been thinking about this for quite some time. What if a cell phone company offered the same really cool phones that any other provider offered and you paid a one time bill and that would be it. How this works is lets say there are three phones #1 is basic, #2 is a little better, and #3 is the coolest phone out. For #1 you would pay $500. For #2 you would pay $750. For #3 you would pay $1000. But, thats it. You pay once and your done. You can upgrade as newer phones come out for Half of what the new phone costs. NO BILL EVER. One Time payment and you can talk as much as you want, text, or anything FOR FREE. I would put all the other providers completely out of business with this idea. The home phone services too probably. Why pay for both. Tell me what you think of my idea. Thanks

How is this unfeasable?? People's cell phone bills are charged by the cell phone companies, the ones who would be put out of business by me. Can you imagine the amount of income by people not wanting to pay a monthly bill would be.

There would of course be a customer protection plan in place. I think that 6 months of assistance and product replacement plan should be in place. But, those are all finite details. I would basically take the best of the features such as customer support, phone features, and ect from all of the current wireless providers and make them a standard with my idea.

As far as customers go, the idea is wonderful-- pretty much everyone would want one and would get one, one way or another.
You, on the other hand, would likely lose money because of costs. Perhaps there is a way. I hope so. You should include a clause that says the deal works only as long as your business stays afloat, or you might be entitled to provide service to customers or refund money even if your business sank due to rising costs and people who find a way to cheat you. Plus, consider customer service-- what do you do if their phone or some component quits? I'm not, by any means, trying to talk you out of this idea-- I'd love one of these phones that never has bills-- but just pointing out possible problems you need to be sure you know about so you can plan ways to address them. Good luck if you decide to market it, and I'll be waiting to buy one if you do!

How are you going to manage that? Have you come up with a plan? How are you going to actually connect people to your network? Do you have a network? Do you own a tower? Do you own multiple towers? Because if not your customers aren't going to be able to use their phones very many places. Who is going to pay for a tower or pay for space on a tower? If your customers are only paying a one time fee then you are going to have to pay for all of the technology to have this company all out of your own pocket. And I imagine that if you had the thousands upon thousands of dollars that it will cost you every month then you wouldn't need to come up with ideas like this. I do admire you for your idea though. It shows that you are trying. Keep it up and I'm sure you will figure out something!! Good luck!!

Phone companies are in the business to make money. What would you do when those people who paid you $500 for their phone rack up phone bills in the thousands of dollars? Who do you think is going to pay for the difference?

it would work the networks already work and exist. there payed for. you should offer a two year protection plan though. i think you should start looking into it. start checking into buying into buying air space from a allready existing company like alltel. then phones like basic nokia then like the motorala razor. then your blackberries. with the cost of your phones though you might want to be more expensive. lol good luck

We already paid for the technology that they use, NASA, DoD tax $ put the satellites up there. Tax $ paid for the TCP/IP protocol that we use today. Tax $ paid for that computer I am typing on now, tax $ paid for the technology (R&D) that makes the internet work. Should not be charged three times for something that has been paid for 4 times now.

Lets take my wife's phone for instance. Average bill each month, $85.00. $85.00 x 12 = $1,020.00. For the last seven years, $1,020.00 x 7 = $7,140.00. Nope, your idea sucks! (For the phone company that is!)
