In the event of a sudden death, such as a car accident, do you think the victim consciously decides to "let go" or they feel like they just don't have the strength to keep living so they decide to die? Or is it pure biological and the person doesn't even know they're dead? Also, do you think they have a "near-death" experience themselves where they can see themselves?

I know most of these questions are pure speculation and can't be proven, but I'm interested in the different viewpoints of what it's like to actually die.

Take our 'higher consciousness' away and we are biological creatures like any other. When our bodies suffer to much damage from accident, illness or age no amount of will can keep a person from holding to life.

If a person dying knew how close they were to death or not, we may never know until we reach that door ourselves.

The near death experiences reported by some, are also identical to those reported by members of the Air Force or NASA when they undergo intense physical training that puts them no where no near death. Simply put, our brains undergoing a lot of stress do funny things.

But the best thing about life is that we don't know what is coming. One day to the next brings with it almost endless possiblity, and death is one of those great unknowns.

I recently had a surgery where they "put me under." I saw the fluid go down the tube and the next thing I knew I was awake and the procedure was over. Over an hour had passed and it seemed like a second. The reason was my brain totally shut down, not the way it does in dreaming, but completely. That was a little unsettling, because I know that's the way death is. When your brain shuts down, you lose both conscious and unconscious experience. You experience nothing. In a sudden death accident, I'm pretty sure there is no "letting go" or decision of any kind. The brain just ceases working, and so your awareness of life stops when your life stops. If this sounds scary, well, that's reality. You can face it, accept it or go find people who will give you "good news."

I have a feeling that when a passenger in a car has their head crushed like a melon by the road or a chunk of another vehicle, then that person did not simply just "let go." Will has nothing to do with it in many cases. Take the innocent bystander who eats a bullet that has strayed through a wall. That person is dead before they even knew they had an accident.

I have had 3 NDE through my life. I definitely will say that each experience was different. And I know there is life after death. The let go part wasn't a decision. I was sent back. I couldn't chose to live or to die if that is what you are asking.

You will know the truth and actual feeling for yourself, first hand.
Don't be so hasty! It will surface one day.
