Upwords is the game you are thinking about. Someone posted a message that it's no longer available, but I believe they are wrong. I saw it for sale in December 2006 at KB Toys. I think it's also available online from Amazon.com and from Toys R Us. It's a very fun game and scoring is simpler than with Scrabble.

No, i play this game a lot, so i am pretty sure no stacking allowed, although there is a game called UpWords that allows you to put up to 4 letters stacked up. I have both games and play with my mom and aunties frequently. (i often lose coz i'm not a book worm unlike them )

No, but there was a game called "UPWORDS" (by mattel i think) that you could create words then to create another word you stack the letters.
