our nation's drug laws have nothing to do with cost effectiveness or even what is sensible or right.

they have taken on the overtones of a religious crusade.

politicians live in such a bubble that they believe that if they don't basically lie about the effects of pot, they will be viewed as left wing lunebats.

our politicians are very bad liars when it comes to pot.

one popular lie is that pot is a 'gateway' drug - meaning that it will lead to more serious drug use. this theory has been discredited over and over again, but you will still hear this as a primary reason why our braindead politicians won't even consider making pot legal and controlling it the same way you do alcohol.

never mind that the tax receipts would come in very handy - just never mind.

never mind that taking this money AWAY from organized crime would hurt them badly - never mind.

our politicians are too busy pretending to give a crap...

What do you mean? Being illegal DOES stop a LOT of usage.
Also, on what grounds do you legalize? If marijuana use was decriminalized, should other drugs like opium also be legal?

As a society, a line must be drawn on what is acceptable or not.
It is a matter of some debate as to whether the government is wasting money to enforce this law.

Personally, I don't think I need the government to tell me what substances I can ingest. However, there are too many ignorant, uneducated morons in the population to permit legal drug use- it would be a disaster

no it is not worth it. even my great grandma talks about the medicinal uses for pot and still uses them today. pot will always be around whether it is legal or not.

They should just legalize it. Even though it's bad for you. Because they will never get rid of it, it's been around far to long, and in some countries it grows like crazy. They need to focus on more important problems in society.

No, if it was legalized a lot of money and taxes could be made from it.
