Oil is the reason the US put Saddam into power in the first place. He was the most willing to work with us back in the late 60's.
Every US base in Iraq is within miles of (sometimes less than a mile from) the main oil pipeline.
The true reason for going to war may never be known. Maybe he was threatening to stop selling us oil, or simply made too much bad press for himself which, in turn, made the people who put him into power (the US) look bad.
Of course, anyone who says 'because of 9/11' is an idiot, as Saddam had nothing to do with Sept. 11th, 2001. If the current war was simply about the trade towers, we would be occupying Afghanistan, which we are barely even present in right now.

I got news for you the us doesnot get one cent from the oil fields in Iraq, as a matter of fact the cost they pay is about 120 billion a year which in turn will be passed on to you in taxes that you will be paying for the rest of your natural born life. I hope that answers your question.

I think we would but it may have slowed the process down. The war is not about oil but I am sure that oil concerns helped in the decision making.

i dont think we would....i think bush is sending troops over there to try and take ova their oil supply, not help to stop the random killings and outburt of the iraqis on ppl there...so if the oil was to just disappear somewhere...bush would go after another country who has this resource...
