I have been able to play dvds on WMP for a while, but suddenly, I can't. The dvd plays, but the screen is black and there is no sound. I have a dvd decoder, but the trial time has expired, could this be what the problem is?
what I need is either a) a way to fix this. b) a freeware dvd decoder. or c) a freeware dvd player.

Download the free VLC software. Play movies just fine. And I do think it is free.
VLC is free.

get a dvd player software and it will be able to play through any multimedia you wish

must use PowerDVD or WinDVD or Hero3000 for better
quality.

you can reinstall windows without losing your media. anydvd works PERFECT. it stays tru to its name.
