This is sort of a difficult question to answer not knowing what your new boyfriend likes. I would strongly recommend against frilly cards, balloons, or flowers. If it were me, and I was familiar with where he's staying, or the town he lives in, I'd send him a roadmap with clues to follow, and have him retrieve things that would make a combined gift for when you get together. It will take a little bit of work, but call the stores ahead of time and place your orders. Have them hold them for him to pick up on the 14th. Example: Movie tickets at the local theatre, a bottle of wine from a local shop or winery (if you're old enough), a letter you mailed to a restaurant saying how great it will be to have dinner together. Something along those lines. The idea is that it keeps him busy on the 14th, and keeps the intrigue going until you get together later in the month. Most places love to help with that kind of stuff, so don't be too shy to ask.
Good luck!

Plan a very good date for him when he return. dedicade the whole day for you both. Visit somewhere you never visit before. In the evening, offer him a bubble bath.. later make good love to him. Dont buy gadjets, or spend your money to buy other stuff. Valentine day is not a day of lovers anymore, its a day of business men to make some money.

Well lets see... If you are only going to be in communication with him through phone or Internet I think the most romantic thing to do would be to write and dedicate a poem to him. Give him a call and in a real sweet sexy voice read it out loud to him... Or you can call a flower shop and have them send a rose with chocolates to his address.

Send him a letter (NOT AN EMAIL), and tell him how much you love him. Make it sweet, and put some of your perfume on it. It will be something he can look at, read, and smell that will remind him of you. Make sure that you send it in time for Valentines.

i would strongly advise you not to fall in love. you have to rise in love. attachment is the root cause of all misery. If your love was truly great it would be really enlightening. you love should transform you from a girl friend to a wife.

Have a very nice professional portrait of yourself taken for him and give it to him in a nice frame. That way, when you are apart from each other, he'll have a nice portrait of you to gaze at.
