due a injection 2 wks ago and i havent gone bk for it as i want to go on the pill. the day it was due i had a slight bleed and only for 24 hrs and today i have another light bleed thats more pink than blood. could the depo coming out my system be the cause of this as its really irregular for me?

The lack of hormone maintenance (missing your shot) is most likely causing your irregular bleeding.

You should contact your doctor and ask about getting a pregnancy test done and getting put on the pill so you can start getting regulated. You don't need to wait for a regular period to start the pill after stopping the shot; I went right from the shot to the pill with no break, and became regular immediately.


BTW, if you're relying on the remnants of the shot to be effective to prevent pregnancy before getting on the pill, please don't. Contraceptive effectiveness can only be guaranteed for as long as you maintain the shot sequence.

From what I can recall, from being on it, yes, it can cause this. Since you don't get your period while on depo, it can take time to come back and may take a while to be regular again.

yes, it will take a while to get regular again as your body gets used to the hormone changes.
