Twitching, or involuntary muscle contraction can be a sign of low Calcium in your organism. You should try to take some Calcium and Magnesium orally or if you afford to, try to find vegetables and fruits that have a rich content of calcium and include them in your daily meals. You should feel better after a while (3-4 weeks, depends on the quantity)
If it's persistent, contact your physician.

One person mentioned Calciun which I never tried but I will now,.\
I have involuntary eye twitches sometimes.. Had it for a week too.. My doc said to up my intake of Vitamin A..buy some Vitamin A just A and take and extra dose on top of a multi Vitamin..Should relieve the symptom within a day or 2.. Take no more than a week... Consult a physician if this doesn't work..but it should ...
Get rid of some of the stress in your life.. Its a culprit to eye twiches..
Straining on a computer does not help the situation...
Hope I could help...:)

An eye lid twitch, also known as a blepharospasm is caused by two things...too much caffeine or not enough sleep. Cut down on one or get more of the other and it'll go away. No worries though it is not a sign of any illness. I'm an eye doc and it happens to me all the time. Take care.

the twitching in your eye may be a sign of stress/lack of sleep. If you are feeling stressed and/or not getting enough sleep--that might be your culpret. Try getting more sleep and learn to relax. If the problem persists, see an M.D.

It may be chalked up to an "old wives tale" but my grandmother always told me when my eye started twitching that it meant i was low in potassium and to have a banana (which are high in potassium)..it may have been all in my head but it seemed to work..go to discovery health or web md and look up eye twitching!

Known as a 'tic' and can be caused by stress or tiredness. I never heard of the 'banana' cure, but well worth trying. It seems to have merit. Also get to bed early............. (It is not an illness or sign of any future problem)
tic (tÄk)
n.
A habitual spasmodic muscular movement or contraction, usually of the face or extremities.

As far as I know it's due to tiredness. It can stop as suddenly as it started. I guess the cure is to get some good quality sleep!
