Seems like there are a lot of questions asked on here that should be asked of a professional or at the very least can be found on the internet just as easily and usually with more information.

As far as seeking a professional, I imagine many people are asking these questions in order to get a grasp of what's going on BEFORE contacting a doctor. That way they can go into the appointment feeling more informed.

As for looking it up on their own, they may have already done so, but are now seeking others' perspectives or personal experiences.

People could just use Google and find out a lot of their answers but then we wouldn't be able to feel all smart by helping them with their stupid questions!

Why didn't you look it up or ask a professional instead of asking this question?

I agree.

I am even more bothered when people answer by linking to Wikipedia.

Sometimes it is fun to see what people on here say about controversial topics.

People usually want responses from real people at real time. It makes them feel more important and increases their self-worth. Pathetic isn't it?
