I've gotta get my alternator fixed/replaced.

I was very happy with the Midas muffler shop in Renton for my Toyota. There was another independent shop in Tukwila called 'Bob's Auto repair as I recall that was awful. The charged me almost $600 for an alternator repair. I fought the charge and took it to Midas for at least 1/3 less.

Since you didn't say what part of town you are in, 'let your fingers do the walking' and call a few shops and ask what they charge per hour for labor rates and what 'the book' says about how long an alternator replacement should take. Then call a NAPA autoparts store to find out what they charge for a new alternator for your make/model of car. That will give you a really good idea what it should cost for the repair so you can tell who's reasonable and who's overpriced.

Greg's Japanese Auto. They are hands down the best. Go to www.gregs.com or call 1-800-79-gregs.
