Advise him that if he ever leaves the kids alone again, you will call the police on him for child abandonment and he will not be allowed to see your son until he has completed the necessary requirements of the court. That should sober him up a bit. If not, I feel very sorry for the kids in this situation.... Good luck, honey.

Tell him you would more than happy to keep your son when he has a scheduling conflict and will allow him to have him some other night....but make it clear that he cannot under any circumstances leave him by himself....and you will call the proper authorities if you hear of it again

you need to address this with a professional or pro se. contact your local legal aid office. they are in all states and most counties. look in the phone book, call the county court clerks office, or your states Bar Assoc for the number.

if the state you live in allows children that age to be left home alone, or if you can prove your child is mentally 13 and incharge of another child... call social services on him... child protective agency... that will document them being home alone, or if someone is there. it will also document the living conditons, what he child says, etc. call and tell them you are scared they will burn down that house and get killed.

that'll give 'em a wake up call.

i'd report his azz

if you have sole custody, then do not send your child to him. you can get his visitiation taken away if you contact juvinile court, and petition for it, but seeing as your kid is a little older, it would be best to just not let your kid over there.

if you report him to children's services they will investigate and interview the kids involved and maybe revoke his rights to visitation due to neglect.
