I don't mean the goofy gay guy from The Friday Night Project. I know two people have have quit smoking after reading it. Has anyone else found it helpful? I'm just a bit cynical

ME - OK I'm not saying he was entirely responsible, but he certainly helped me to get in the right frame of mind.
Most of the stuff he comes up with actually made sense to me.
I did stop and start with the book a couple of times - and over the years before AC i stopped a million times.
Eventually quit last March - i was really annoyed to find that about 4/5 days in was as bad as it got, i had been at that point so many times thinking that it would just keep getting worse.
Go for it - what have you got to lose? By the way - AC tells you NOT to stop smoking until you have read the book - he doesn't ask you to stop while reading!
Good Luck - Email me if you want some support from a non evangelical ex smoker.

Someone lent it to me becasue she was worried about my 20-a-day habit and I tossed it on to a pile beside my bed and forgot about it for three months. Then when i developed a chest infection for the 3rd time in a year I decided to have a look at it. I was immediately impressed by the style of writing and I ended up reading the entire book overnight (while smoking!) After a few hours' sleep I got up and bought some patches and I never smoked another cigarette from that day, three and a half years ago.

I am pretty sure that it was the book that did it. It suddenly just seemed to make complete sense.

I gave up for a month after reading it and my partner gave up for 8 months you just have to not have that cigarette and you can't really read it twice as it doesn't have the same effect.

It was excellent and it did work but you really have to want to stop and then yes it will work...

I am now about to start reading paul mckenna's quit smoking to see if that works I really hope so as I want desperately to stop.

Good Luck !!!!

I find that books dont help me. All you need is willpower to stop smoking and put a ashtray in front of you and think I wouldn't eat that so why I do I smoke it. Try this it might help you to stop smoking.

It didn't work for me but i am so weak when comes to willpower.I read it through my friend though who did quit.
I now only smoke when i drink alcohol, that was the hardest thing for me,but on the downside(for me) i only used to drink at the weekend but now i am a fully fledged alcoholic, does anyone know any good books to fight 'the demon drink?'

I stopped after reading it, but i think it only wokrs if you are ready yourself to quit..if you have any doubts about whether you're ready, it wont work.
