How can this be called entertainment? its so degrading, full of "wanabees", who in their right mind wants to be filmed 24/7, on the loo, alseep?, how interesting............, not, rather watch paint dry, i dont like tv at best of times but this is scrapping the barrel,to think some of licence money goes towards making programmes like this, sooner it goes where reat of rubbish goes the better, it takes ove peoples lifes.i have a "friend" who when this is on watches it 24/7 and wont do anything else, sad.All reality tv is the pits but BB/CBB, is the worse.

First point to get straight is that the licence money does not go into making or showing these programmes. They are financed out of advertising revenue. Therefore all the free publicity about the racism did not stop people from watching. Quite the opposite, it increased the viewers from 4million to 8 million. This enabled Ch4 to charge more for the advertising and therefore increase their profits.
Having said all that, I do agree with you in that it is a programme for brain dead people and it is a programme with brain dead people in it. They are all nothing and most should remain as nothing. Just think how awful it must have been with non celebrities in it and in particular Jade Goody.
And as for Parliament and government ministers getting in on it, that really made the UK a laughing stock.

Oh how wonderful to know that I am normal! The most I've seen of CBB/BB is what's been on the news recently, (then I get indignant that it should be on the news and go and make yet another cup of tea), other than that it's been seen for a second by accident, when I've been channel hopping. I certainly don't think it is entertainment and I'm not a fan of reality shows anyway.

If he's got any common sense he should avoid that show like the plague! No matter how much money he is being offered. He's got the upper hand atm with the public liking him for the way he's conducted himself over his split with Katie. Taking part in this Show could make things much worse. After all, "Celebs" LIVE to be loved by the Public as they are mostly insecure individuals.

Big Brother: whats the point. There are people out there sitting in a house watching people sitting in a house. Also Jade Goodey is the most ignorant, dim witted, offensive, useless waste of space ever to be seen on the earth! Why on earth people watch these progams is beyond me, get a life folks, go out side and do something worth while, or else read a book or do something interlectual. You never know i may lead to fewer Jade Goodeys in the future if people didn't waste their life watching the garbage that is Big Brother

no your not i cant stand this obsession with "reality" and "celebrity" TV whats the matter with people have they got nothing else to do with their sad lives than watch other peoples sad lives, my partner and landlord are obsessed to watch these types of programmes.Big Brother is seen now as a quick way of making your 15 minutes of fame, becoming a celebrity having you magazine cover, autobiography written and thousands of interviews on Daytime TV

The Jade & Shilpa fiasco just about sums it up all this hype about something so trivial, of course Big Brother are not gonna step in or ban it cause their viewing figures just rocketed by 1 million overnight, and people at home getting on their soapbox about how "nasty she was" and how "channel 4 should step in and stop it" and then "just check to see what time its on tonight??????"

think to all the decent programmes that both the BBC and ITV have both produced and we have now been subjected to Car Crash TV and bloody phone in quiz shows, another thing i cannot understand.

and they want to increase the TV licence?

I am proud to say No-one in our family watch it they are not that easily entertained.Sometimes I have caught a glimpse of it whilst changing channels and they are always asleep or fiddling around in the kitchen. The media milk it for all its worth so you cant completly get away from it.---Reality T.V. Its nothing like the real world I live in.

Couldn't agree more, it nurtures the "look at me" culture, where people become famous, not because of what they have achieved, but just by being on some cheap fill in TV fodder which caters to the mentally subnormal.

Cant say I dislike it because have never seen it. Wouldnt switch it on that just encourages the makers of this kind of crap to make even more crap. Vicious circle.

No, your not the only one. I hate all of it. I know too many people who are so wrapped in it that I think they have forgotten who they even are. I'm actually glad you asked, now I don't feel alone.
