First, YOU CANNOT USE A COMPASS

The earth's magnetic field DOES NOT POINT NORTH in every locality. Some places a compass even points westward and eastward.!!!!!

You need a GPS or ground position indicator, or you can look on a map and see which way north is and go from that info.

What do you mean, "what direction im in"? People (including you) don't have a direction. The MOVE in a direction, or the FACE (or LOOK) in a direction. They're not "in" a direction.
