I don't like to wear makeup too often, if at all. When I do I usually only do my eyes & have the same problem every time. I have somewhat oily skin but really oily eyelids....and my eye makeup never stays!!! I use oil-free moisturizer on my face & have tried using either just foundation before applying eyeshadow, just powder before applying or both beforehand. I've read in numerous places to do that as a base on the lids so that it helps eyeshadow stay longer but it doesn't work either way I try it!! My eyeshadow STILL creases & my eyeliner "melts" into the crease of my lid & underneath my bottom lid too...causing me to look like I haven't slept in days. Does anyone know of anything else I could do or use to prevent this? If there are any products suggested then please tell me where I could get them. Thank You!

(The only thing that does NOT give me problems is my mascara....GO FIGURE!)

ALSO if anyone has any good tips (with pictures?) on good tricks/styles to use RED eyeshadow that would be appreciated too! I bought some from Hot Topic but I can't make it look ok on me....It just looks like my eyes are all red as if I've been doing A LOT of crying. URG!

BY THE WAY: I DO let my moisturizer set in before applying makeup & also have tried concealer...doesn't work! I do NOT use cream or gel shadows because they are 5x worse. I only use powdered shadow.

P.S. I have brown eyes if anyone wanted to know......

Clinique has a touch base for eyelids. I also have oily eyelids, and used to have all my color go into the creases, but this keeps it looking awesome all day long!

What you could is if you have red eyeshadow (not too bright not too light) and apply that over the eyelid up unttil the crease and then u could use black eyeshadow in the outer corner using the tip of an applicator or an outer corner brush and filling the outer corner and lightly lining the top of the crease. Then apply thin eyeliner (i recommend liquid-mayebelline) then apply light eye kohl on the bottom. Use an eye lash curler and hold ur lashes for 5 sec slowly coming up to the edge of your eyelashes after that apply mascara but only to the top lashes because then it will look too much. I almost forgot, for the highlight use a very light color.

for the whole eyesahdow slippin problem i dont really know a soloution except foundation etc what you've already heard before but a good idea migth be to go 2 a department store and ask them for a consultation cos they might be able to help you and there professionals..

...hope me helped...

If you have naturally oily skin- you can skip the moisturizer all -together. Clinique has a product that you apply to your t-zone that would help with excess oil- I think it contains talc or baby powder.
I would suggest using an eye base, and finish with a powder. Clinique also has an eyeliner that sets in 30 seconds and will not move until you wash it off...I think it's called Quickliner. Otherwise any waterproof liner would do the same thing.
I would skip the red eyeshadow - you should only use shades that compliment your eye color - if you have blue eyes, use violets and peaches, if you have brown eyes use greens, golds and neutral tones. Red eyeshadow is only good on two occasions - halloween and vegas(if you're a showgirl).

Goodness, DON'T Add foundation to your eyelids... you are JUST giving it more crap to move around.

What you need to do is let your moisturizer SET before you apply make-up. Let it soak in completely and dry. You can then try a light dusting of powder over your lid before you apply shadows. But if your moisturizer is still setting, and you are adding foundation on top of it, eek, what a nightmare! OH, and don't use those stupid little applicator pads, get a good set of BRUSHES, and use the right ones on your lids.

use a GOOD brand of make-up, as believe it or not, it makes a difference to the staying power, and go LIGHT on your application. Try MAC or Sephora or Arbonne. Arbonne's website has make-up application tips, and the folks at Sephora and MAC will give you a free make-over, teaching you how to apply.

You can get gel and cream eyeshadows now, which are pretty good, they seem to stay on really well, try putting some powder underneath first though. As for your eyeliner that happens to me. My friend suggested changing my eyeliner to Rimmel, instead of the one that I am using now, which is Lancome.

Good luck, hoped I've helped :-) xx

use colorstay makeup. i have the same problem! but, with a good makeup brand and colorstay makeup...it will stay! but, u shouldn't skip an eye base/primer. it works way better than the regular foundation or powder. here's some websites that you might find interesting: http://www.videojug.com/category/beauty. i also recommend using liquid eye liner. it stays way longer than a regular pencil or even try revlon colorstay pencil if a pencil is really what you want.

the best thing for eye shadow is mac they have the best. and what type of powder are you using. Try baby powder. I know plenty of people who eye lids get all messy but they use the cream eye shadows. You can't use that.

Instead of using foundation, try using some concealer on your lids before applying shadow. I found this works pretty well!

Put a little bit of baby powder on top of your eyelids before applying your eyehadow.

You can try gel based shadows. They are good for oily lids. Stila has a line of gel shadows.
