There are two types of soundcard - really old ones used an ISA slot (which is a bit bigger than the new ones). The new ones use PCI slots.

I think all soundcards are for PCI slots , so as long as you have a PCI slot it should fit.

maybe 1 or 2 finger widths away from the edge of the slot
