Public opinion will turn harder against Bush and the GOP, Congress will cut funding, Bush will veto everything he can to punish congress, and a Democrat will be elected President in 2008.

It's not a "last chance". The whole operation in Iraq was/is a long-term process that takes years from the start. Peoples' resolve is just weakening, thus there is more complaining. The whole process was a necessary evil that had to be done to remove a threat. The job will be completed and the Iraqis will take over all of Iraq as a democracy (which will be an ally to the US).

The current surge of troops is just a temporary step to put more trainers on the ground, teaching the Iraqis. Within 18 months most of our troops will be home. Hang in there and don't fall for the ignorant hippie socialist blabber.

to tug the troops could be comparable to surrendering and giving up. in spite of we are saying and do, we can be branded as cowards and murderers. We combat the enemy there so as that they do no longer come here interior the U. S.. If the civilians there might purely think of approximately their destiny and not of their radicalism then they could be ok. Pulling out the troops could be a actual disaster. everybody is asserting that they help the troops yet yet they had to coach to the international that what they are battling for is in ineffective and that each physique the deaths have been purely for no longer something simply by fact we would in simple terms resign like the former Soviet Republic did.

I deplore the fact he has excalated troops. We lost 25 soldiers in 2 days this past weekend. 20,000 is not enough to make a difference in anything but our Military death toll. I am a Military Mom and my son has already been over there once. I dread to see him have to go back.

It's not our last chance, although the public looks at it like that because many of them are sick of the war. I theorize that if you kept rising troop levels, eventually there would be so many of them that the insurgency wouldn't have room to breathe. When that happened, the problem would have to be solved.

It is all over except for the dying. Bush will expand the war to Iran and fail.

.. i think they use the media to keep people thinking we are in trouble in the middle east as a smokescreen to hide their true intentions of staying there until ... as hugo chavez put it .. "the entire mid-east geopolitical map has changed" ... and the whole middle east is brought into line with US foreign policy ... things are not what they appear .. thats my opinion.
