from what i read calling it a band aid would be an insult to band aids everywhere who quietly perform their noble task of protecting our minor wounds.

The truth is that he solves nothing and he knows it. Bush is on his last 2 years and his approval ratings are dismal. He needs to pretend that he's doing something but he's a lame duck. He knows it wont pass b/c congress will see it serves no purpose but he needs to pretend to be at work. Schwartzenegger's plan is much better.

What the real issue is here is the medical, pharmaceutical and insurance conglomerate that has forced us into a healthcare crisis.
Have you been to an emergancy room lately? I got a spider bite, needed some antibiotics. Went to the emergancy room and got charged something like $1,200. For what? I fresh doc and a couple pokes at the leg and out the door I went with what took a total of 10 real minutes but 6 hours of my time. The reality is that without insurance it will be years before I get that paid off.

The reality is that with the pharmaceutical companies creating medications not only for desease but for profit they are creating a nation of people going to the doctor for unnecessary ailments they learned about on TV and not going for real problems because they can't afford it.

Pharmeucitcal companies are spilling countless amounts of medication onto the market without testing long term effects of the medication. Essentially, the Amercian Populous has become a testing platform for new medications. Sure they do trials, but not decades worth. What we are going to see is a whole new genre of medical problems brought on by the greed and overzelousment of the medical industry.

Then they get into how a doctor is to prescribe the medication. It is like these decisions are not even left up to the doctor anymore, but rather the insurance company or the pharmecuetical company bringing the most perks to the office. This is also causing frequent and unnecessary office visits, which doctors are happy to bill insurance for.

They are making regulations where doctors have to prescribe newer more expensive medication that doesn't work as good as the cost effective means already on the market.

Frankly, the whole thing sickens me. We can spend our time money and effort on a police action that is out of our control rather then the health and well being of the population.

I mean really, if they wanted us to all have health care, it is a signature away for them....

Guess the pens are too heavy in Washington....

Anything that Bush has ever done has never solved anything. To me it just made things worse. He was a big part in my opinion of dividing this country, he played cowboy and sent so many young men and women out to a war to the wrong country and now sadly we're losing so many young men and women to this war until I just want to cry every time I hear a new report on the news. To me Bush is one of the worst if not the worst President we've ever had and I will be so glad when his @ss is long gone!

i individually doubt that the two social gathering has it in innovations to pay greater advantageous than lip provider to controlling pharmaceutical companies. there is too lots funds paid into the coffers of the two considerable events' marketing campaign funds for the government to coach against important Pharma. Heck, even the FDA is of their pocket, directly approving drugs on rudimentary (and frequently biased) examine, with little or no concern for long-term area effects. how many drugs have had to be recalled interior the final couple of years using fact they have been killing human beings? however the attitude of drug approval has no longer replaced lots. everywhere there is relatively some funds being made, and the politicos are waiting to skim some off the innovations-blowing, you will locate little opt to alter.

Bush is in his final phase of decision making as his term is running out and he knows it. His new proposal solves nothing the same as his plan to escalate more troops to Iraq will solve nothing. Too bad this insane man cannot be impeached for his actions and plans. I do not think he has the people of the US at heart. He cares for nothing but making a name for himself politically. That's sad.

Lets be realistic. Has any politicians health insurance proposal solved anything.
Bush's proposal is another one in a long line of failed proposals to a poor system of health care in this country.

Who cares? This is what you get when you vote yourselves "bread & circuses". The government shouldn't be in the health business in the first place -IT HAS NO CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY to do this. Period.
