My husband won this at work last Christmas ('05). Wondering if we should just enjoy this ourselves or if we should trade it in for a newer model?

If it's brand new,unopened you can still sell it for some 120 to 150 bucks.Try Ebay or Amazon.

4 GB is plenty for just music, since it doesn't play videos. Just keep it. Those things are great.
But if you really think you need to have videos in your pocket wherever you go, then sell it on eBay and buy an iPod 30gb. My friend has one and its so cool. The games are really fun too.
Creative: Zen Vision is a nice MP4 player as well.

You could sell it on eBay. Especially if it's still unopened. Do a search on eBay and find the going prices.

1000 four minute songs your songs might be longer than four minutes and so it takes up more space. the longer your songs, the less you can put on it. the shorter your songs, the more you can put on it. i have the same ipod and it has 1067 songs but my songs are mostly around 3 minutes long.
