I believe that if the "customer" has interaction with the employee, then yes, the employer cares.
For instance, someone working construction on a large crew where the general public customer will not be interacting with them could get away with long hair, untrimmed beard, dirt under the fingernails.
But someone coming into someone's house to construct a closet, or lay carpet can turn the homeowner off.
I've heard of times when employers were called and asked to replace the employee because the homeowner didn't feel safe due to too many tattoos. Can you believe that???
It's not a nice thought, but you have to admit, if it's your home, you have a right to decide who comes into it.

Put yourself in the shoes of your employer, or in the shoes of any employer. Depending on any industry, being presentable to customers, fellow employees, and even on the phone is desirable. A neat appearance is always preferable, as impressions are formed within 30 seconds of a meeting, sometimes even less. Some, you cannot help, like if you remind someone of a person they disliked in their past, or if your personality clashes with theirs because of a long-standing neighbor who had a similar personality. That does not mean you shouldn't be yourself. However, for cleanliness, and your own self-esteem, a person should maintain a pleasant outer appearance. One never knows when you may meet the most import and influential person in their life at the next moment, wherever they happen to be, at lunch, work, driving down the street, or even in an auto accident. Be the person you'd like to become, that you would admire, and you are comfortable with yourself. If you find yourself lacking in any of the above, you are selling yourself short, and wasting your talents on something that is easily fixed or improved.
Take it to heart, no matter how you look, you are judged. However, your personality and kindness, work ethic and effort, capabilities, will shine through, but still look more sale-able when you look neat and tidy. You may also be more compensable that way as well. Hope this answers your question! Good luck and God Bless. :)

Unless the employer is a ditch digging company then I'm pretty sure that they just want them clothed in suitable attire for ditch digging.
Womens legs shaven is optional, not an issue as long as the woman wears slacks or long skirts or tights that cannot be seen through. Otherwise, yes shaven is customary in US business.

yes.
remember that all employers have a uniform. That uniform may be a company shirt, it may be a suit, it may be a tshirt and a hard hat. Some places like hot topic may even expect employees to be pierced and tattooed.
Remember that people hire those that look the part and MOST places want you to look clean and respectable so it is a good bet to shower and shave before going to that inteview!

Does he even comprehend he's lacking contained in the hygiene branch? Is he friendly with any of his co-workers? if so, have they made any feedback? possibly at your next assembly once you bypass handouts for employer advancements, you will possibly be able to desire to record visual charm as considered one of your objectives. this is, as representatives of the employer or employer each and each worker ought to attempt to be "a clean, prepared, properly-groomed, properly-mannered, in a position & effective individual" or what suits your desires. perhaps that could get the message by way of devoid of too plenty fuss.

Yes they do! If you smell bad or are just downright disgusting you could take a chance at being let go from the job. I dont know how many people I have seen get fired because of how dirty they were.

Pretty much yes, I would say, tho I don't think commanding women to shave their legs is appropriate at all.
