Coral snakes are tricky- be careful about selling it.

They are protected in much of their range, so it would be illegal to collect, buy, or sell. If the owner can document that it was collected or purchased legally, that would help a lot.

In many parts of the country, venomous snakes are illegal to own, buy, or sell.

As a rule of thumb, venom is only purchased from licensed suppliers that meet criteria for purity, animal care, safe handling, storage, etc. The people who buy it do not want to encourage amatuers to go out and start keeping animals that are dangerous to them and those around them.

agree with mad no one will buy venom from some person that thinks they know what they are doing.. labs that make antiveom have people that supply them, it takes 100s of snakes to produce enough venom. the person that said you dont want an antidote shop opening next door must know very little about venomous snakes and how antiveom is made... its not something you make from home and takes 10s of thousands of dollars to hold venom and then turn it into antivenom not something you do in your garage or kitchen. what if you are not as good at it as you think? you take a bite and then you get 50K or more in hospital bills? dont try you will just end up getting killed leave milking snakes to people that know what they are doing. i suggest you go on youtube and look at the kyreptilezoo and see what a venom producer does. also notice jim is missing some fingers, happens when you milk 500 or more venomous snakes a week

RE:
A friend has a coral snake, where can he sell the snake or the venom?

Owning the most venemous snake in the world for a profit is probably not the smartest idea. The danger of being bitten is not worth the risk for a few dollars. Contact the local herpetological society to find out if it can be adopted or donated to a zoo.

you can SELL it anywhere! but know one will buy it...snake venom is bought through a medical industry and is purified and such...so you have no chance of making oodles of money.
as for the snake...advertise in the paper or craigslist or online reptile classified.
