Dude, no. Forget all those other answers. learn HTML real quick (its not a programming language, its easy dont worry) and then read DOM Scripting by Jeremy Keith. It is a javascript programming book (which is perfect for beginners) and it gives, by far, the best expanation of most of the concepts in programming. It is truly an excellent place to start.

As far as order, here it is when it comes to web programming--

html
css
javascript

then you have a choice to make

either .NET or PHP

if you dont want to go with web programming then learn java. java is cool because if you ever wanted to hop over to web programming you are basically set. Head First Java would be the best book to start off there.

hope it helps good luck

email me with some more of your questions

ANy sam teach you whatever in a certain time makes learning really easy. VB 2005 is the easiest to learn but C++ 2005 help you make toolbars and stuff. If you really want ot get serious buy Visual Studio 2005. Microsoft has alot of tutorials and videos on programing.

I have found out the best place to get programming books is in college. Go to a college bookselling or find out what the college does with its old books.Or you could enroll buy the old books for the class for half off. then drop the class.
first i would point you to a Programming logic book.
Sometimes called programming logic and design.
then you have to decide on what you want to design.
Web pages PHP, html, java.
Games direct X, C++, C#, C..
I hope this helps.
